bim/bune evocation 2 experience

this time (20100519, i think i started around 0030 or 0100) i tried to do it a little more by the book than my first evocation of bim. this time i didnt address him as a duke of hell only as a duke.

i started out by going to the grocery store and getting some food and drinks i thought he might like (i was totally going on intuition though since it was a last minute idea i got while driving to my office to do the evocation), this is what i got:
banana (it was still a little green)
watermelon (green on the outside)
a melkesjokolade (the best norwegian chocolate, i got the biggest bar i could find)
a pack of my favorite brownies
a little bag of pistachio nuts (my favorite nuts, they are also green)
the best brand of juice (made by nora). i got the citrus and lime flavor (green)
an energy drink (energy for Bim) called Burn (in a can)
green paper plates
green plastic cups
green plastic forks and knives
flowery green napkins
long green candles

i couldnt get any nice alcoholic drink for Bim because it was after the cutoff time for sale of alcohol here so i improvised. but when i asked him during the evocation using my pendulum if he liked and accepted my offering i got a yes.

this time i used a circle and chose 4 god names off the top of my head and wrote them down in the 4 quarters of the circle, but after doing the LBRP i realized, maybe i should have used the god names mentioned there? it would have at least been symbolically "tighter" (although next time ill just use what is in the goetia. can you believe i forgot to bring that text with me? =).

this time i took a special robe/shirt with me and washed my face, ears, nose, mouth and hands before i started the ritual.

i chalked 3 times around for my chalk circle (i need to get something better/nicer soon). the floor of my office is concrete and the ceiling is like a 4 meter high half-dome shape, so when im vibrating names it echoes like crazy and sounds really cool! =) my office is about 45 m2 and has kind of a dungeon feel to it =) i visualized a long time that i would get this office at a good price because the initial offer was way too high and i got the owner to go way down so i feel like magick was used to get the place and it felt good to do magick IN the place last night, for the first time =)


i had the book modern magick with me just in case i needed a reference for something. in there it mentioned the tools to have on my altar in the circle so for my dagger i had a sword, for the cup/water i had a green plastic cup filled with bitter lemon schweppes soda, for fire i used the hazel wand i ordered from jake and for earth i used the food (my portion of the offerings for bim. its supposed to be like a date right, like someone mentioned? i couldnt let Bim "eat" alone =) since watermelon and nuts and banana come from the earth. (i thought at least it was a clever improvisation =)

i had an audio recorder going the whole time (1 hour and 7 minutes) so it will be interesting to listen to that recording and see if it picked up anything interesting during the ritual...

this time i hung one of the sigils around my neck (the recommended one for bim) and put the other one on bims altar. i had to use my shoelace because i couldnt find any string. sometimes i feel like macgyver. jk. =)

the format of the ritual was this:

the wording was completely impromptu
when i was looking at the black mirror, the candles produced an interesting afterimage effect, it was completely white inside the black mirror circle. funny thing was that i had read earlier that day specifically about the afterimage effect, on wikipedia =)

the MOST interesting thing that happened, other than the sometimes-really-strong responses i got on my pendulum was when i started the actual evocation. right when i started speaking the words of the evocation lots of black smoke suddenly came out of the left candle and lasted for like 2-4 seconds. they had already been burning for probably 15-20 minutes and i hadnt noticed anything like that before or after. the timing seemed too good to be a coincidence. it was pretty cool =)

reflecting back on the ritual i think i should have used a little more time "courting" instead of going right to "business", so i think ill do that next time. also i have a couple of questions now that i wished i had asked during, so i think ill take some time to write out questions beforehand...next time.

what?! no mention of the current prophet and apostles? there is no mention of anybody outside of ancient scripture or ancient lds church history (joseph smith).

im labeling this one uq AND aq because i feel at least some of these questions are rhetorical. this is an ongoing list of things i have been thinking about for a long time.

heres a simple case set:
you are a father/mother and have 4 children; sonA and daughterA choose to be baptized and become members of the lds church and sonB and daughterB chose not to become a member, but all live equally "worthy",

* the gift of the holy ghost - an "open line" to guidance from god as long as one lives "worthy".
would you restrict or down-prioritize contact with sonB because he chose not to be baptized (lower himself down into some water), even though he lived just as "worthy" as sonA? would you be less inclined to speedily help daughterB when she asked you for help or guidance?
(this is an example of one of the rhetorical questions =)

along the same lines, if we are asked to have unconditional love, to mirror jesus christ, in other words, god/jesus christ have unconditional love, and god is no respecter of persons, then i cant get this to add up.

* also similar to the previous question, if baptism is a requirement to return to god and live with him and inherit everything he has. would you give your children a mandate that they must lower themselves underneath water and make them promise to be obedient to you, otherwise they get no inheritance or a lot less inheritance from you when you die? and furthermore, not be allowed to live in your presence forever more? i dont know of anybody on earth who does this, although there might be some who do, but i think the general public opinion would think that person is unloving and wicked and unfair. if daughterB said to you, "father, i dont see any point in lowering my self down in some water, but i will promise to live to be as loving and nice of a person as daughterA", would you still say "then you will never see my face again" or "then you will get no inheritance from me" or "well i will have to cut your inheritance to half of daughterA and i will never allow you to come to this house again. i want to see you go down in some water. that is the most important part! this is what is really important to me!".

interesting, i wonder why god would purposefully harden pharaohs heart? god sends moses to free israel, but then tells moses that he will make pharaoh not let israel go free:

And the Lord said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

its obvious from this that freeing israel wasnt gods only purpose with moses' visit. its either something personal with ramses, moses or wanting to show miracles, probably a combination of everything.

elemental composition of spirit matter

im reading a book called teach yourself electricity and electronics fourth edition and it mentions hydrogen and helium and lithium as the lightest elements in the universe, in that order, and it got me to thinking about spirit matter. assuming it also is made up of the same elements as everything else in the universe, spirit matter should be detectable by testing/looking for the lightest elements in the periodic table of elements. doesnt that seem logical?

in the movie the case for a creator there is something im having a hard time grasping:
they propose that darwinism cannot be true because:
a) if you put everything needed for life into a test tube, you cant generate life
b) the cambrian explosion, lack of evidence in the fossil record (but this has nothing to do with this post)

Q. how can they then propose that the universe had a beginning, that all matter in the universe came from nothing (the singularity theory) when they just proposed that life on earth couldnt have come from nothing?

god would have to exist outside of the universe then.

update: i watched more and yes they said exactly what i was thinking, they are proposing god exists outside of the universe and that he created it out of nothing.

this goes against the conservation of energy. singularity theorists would have to change their theory and say that god created the universe out of something else, but not from nothing.

but then i found this page, evidence for the big bang where it says that it is not a contradiction.

i finally finished watching the whole video. probably the biggest thing i got out of the video was that most (all?) information we can find on earth can be traced back to some form of intelligence that created it, so what does that imply about information contained in dna? good food for thought.

one thing i didnt like about the video was lee strobel's assumption that since there might be a god, then christianity is true. he said something as a fact in the movie which i thought was pretty ridiculous: "god himself is invisible, he is a spirit..." (~ 55:20)
where the *heck* did this come from? strobel goes from investigating the case for a creator to then concluding that god does exist, god is a *he* AND he is invisible and is a spirit? pretty unscientific conclusion to an otherwise interesting semi-scientific investigation.

one key principle david sereda talks about is how ufos are vibrating at speeds (wavelengths) in some instances that are far greater than what the human eye can see (near ultra violet and above). since spirits exist and are all around us, what david suggests about ufos tells me that a spirit is vibrating outside visual light frequencies for normal humans, whether it be infrared or ultraviolet; humans normally only see between red and violet. now if you could get someone who can perceive spirits, pinpoint a particular area, (or how about observing a dying person/animal?) then film with cameras capable of capturing ultraviolet and infrared light, maybe we could see spirits on camera. this also begs the question:

Q. for people who can literally see spirits, is the viewers visual capacity changed to be able to pick up these humanly-out-of-range light frequencies or can spirits change their own vibration frequencies bringing them into humans visual range? i am leaning towards the first possibility since i have seen documentaries of people who say they can see something while others present dont see what they are seeing. unless it then is a combination of a spirit shifting its vibrations into humanly visible light frequencies while at the time altering the visual capacities of onlookers they dont want to be able to view them (the spirit).

the circle of solomon is to be made nine feet across and the divine names are to be written around it from ehayou to levanah.

there is no mention earlier in the goetia, or the lemegeton for that matter, of divine names. as a side note, i noticed that ehayou is similar to spirit 14, lerayou. but then it refers to figure A3 to see the circle that solomon made. there is no ehayou or levanah in that figure.

Q. where is the list of divine names? is the original circle solomon made written in hebrew and are the english names in figure A3 just translated incorrectly?

update: looking at figure A3 again, in the inner most ring of names, the last one is spelled jevenah, so i assume that is levenah, but the closest thing i can find to ehayou is eleha. comparing it with the magic circle on esotericarchives.com, i see there that ehayou is spelled ehyeh.

there sure are a lot of interesting aspects surrounding the number 666:
* 666 is composed of each of the roman numerals under 1000 (M) in descending order
* if you add all regular numbers from 1 to 36 you get 666. it is a triangular number. i noticed that crowleys order called silver star is written A (3 dot triangle) A (3 dot triangle). fyi, the 3 dot triangle (quadrans, quadrantis) is a roman numeral for quarter (1/4 of a whole) and the closest way to write it on a keyboard is with an apostrophe in the middle: .'.
there are 2 quarters in the order name, 1/4 + 1/4 == 1/2 and 1/2 is composed of the numbers 1 and 2. 1+2 == 3, there are 3 dots in the quadrans. probably nothing significant, just interesting relationships.

this is ongoing since i just got it today. just to be clear, when i say "review" i mean things i think are interesting or unclear to me the first time i read them. it is not a general summary of the book. that said, here are my thoughts and questions:

page ii:

since they are seen as having a subtle body of sorts, the threat of pain is also commonly used.

i was under the impression that spirits and demons were just spirits (unembodied). i have always learned that a spirit looks like a body, but since it doesnt have a body it cant feel physical pain. i thought immediately of a quote from Chapter 37: Understanding Death and Resurrection, Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Brigham Young (page 273):

My spirit is set free, I thirst no more, I want to sleep no more, I hunger no more, I tire no more, I run, I walk, I labor, I go, I come, I do this, I do that, whatever is required of me, nothing like pain or weariness, I am full of life, full of vigor, and I enjoy the presence of my heavenly Father, by the power of his Spirit. I want to say to my friends, if you will live your religion, live so as to be full of the faith of God, that the light of eternity will shine upon you, you can see and understand these things for yourselves” (DNSW, 28 July 1874, 1).

Q. can spirits and/or demons feel pain? or is it just a mental/psychological pain (of which i believe spirits can experience, but since he mentions the subtleness of the demons body, im inclined to think he means physical pain)?
