Q. prenatal/premortal sin?

Q. is there such a thing as sinning in the pre-existence (when man was a spirit, before being born into a body)?

in lds doctrine Satan and his followers were cast out of God's presence because of rebellion, which one could classify as sin.

in the new testament in john 9:1-3 there's a scripture about a boy who was born blind and jesus' disciples asked if it was because he had sinned or because his parents had sinned and jesus answers "neither":

1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

premortal sin was obviously a concept they were familiar with.
